Hi Alysa, I agree that the ability to feel comfortable and open to talk to your instructor truly does help to succeed in a class! I like how you intentionally make sure to be available for your students. This is very supportive and I am sure your students appreciate this. I’m reflecting on my journey as an instructor and I have a similar experience as you in being welcoming to helping students and being available. Also, I agree that this generation of students do indeed like discussions and want their perspectives to be heard. I believe this may be due to the current society that we live in where society encourages unique voices and social media propagates this consistently.
